Post baby body fit

A mum who discovered the power of exercise after giving birth to her first child is working to inspire others into physical activity.

Airike Monahan is a Personal Trainer and Pre and Post Natal Fitness Trainer,
and a mother of one, who is also pregnant with her second child. She joined Baby Body Fit classes as a client when her son was six weeks old, having put on 30kg during her first pregnancy.

“I started seeing some results and I developed a passion for fitness. Soon after, I started a Personal Training course in Dublin, and got my qualifications. Baby Body Fit was always on my mind as I thought it was a great concept – bringing mums together and giving them a workout in a judgement free environment,” Airike explained.

“Plus, they can bring their little ones with them, so no need for a babysitter and no precious time lost. It is so, so important to socialise and be surrounded by like-minded people who know exactly what what you’re going through.”

Exercise became so important for Airike in the months after she had her baby, adding: “I was very unhappy about my appearance and suffered postnatal depression as well. Exercise was the thing that gave me my sanity back. I’m very passionate about raising awareness about exercise and clean eating now.”

Airike started in Baby Body Fit In 2014 when she moved to Galway with her family and decided to buy the franchise.

“I just wanted to share the experience with Galway mamas. It’s been a crazy ride. I’ve been in business for two years now. The beginning was challenging but I’m happy to say that two years later, I have three locations going, with seven classes a week.”
